EXPLORER I – This program is a great way to introduce participants to the world of camp! These camps offer a wide variety of activities for campers that includes canoeing, swimming, archery and the ropes course. A typical week at camp involves community meals in our dining hall, camp wide games and evening campfire as well as Bible study and worship experiences in a natural setting.The small size of the cabin group is perfect for receiving the attention and care needed from our qualified counselors. Explorer campers sleep in 4-room cabins with their friends and two counselors.

EXPLORER TRY OUT CAMP – Not ready to commit to a full week of yet? This three night camp offers our younger campers an opportunity to enjoy all the activities at camp in a shorter time for those who would enjoy an introduction to all that GCCRC has to offer. It gives them an opportunity to live in community, participate in group meals, camp wide games and all of the other offerings.

Ignite your child’s sense of adventure in this active camp as they experience the full scope of Christian camping.  Pioneer campers will participate in canoeing, ropes course, swimming, crafts and Bible study. At the end of the week a talent show highlights and celebrates the fun that fills this camp.

This program for 13 to 15 year olds is an opportunity for campers to experience everything we have to offer at camp, canoeing, swimming, archery, bouldering wall, the low ropes course as well as camp wide games and our very popular talent show! This week, campers will participate in community while living staying in cabins, eating in the dining hall and learning about their faith through worship, Bible stories and small group discussion.

MADD (music, art, drama & dance) CAMP (Ages 10–14)

MADD camp combines the best of the traditional Christian camp activities with more time to focus on our creative side. Campers will have the chance to explore their creativity including: singing, improv, movement, sculpture, painting and more!  The week culminates in a MADD showcase that highlights each camper’s God-given talents. Campers will also have an opportunity to enjoy evening campfires and many outdoor activities that will help to get their creativity flowing!

Come enjoy a long weekend at camp with all of the activities offered at GCCRC as well as a speaker for the adults. Staff will offer a variety of activities for the entire family to enjoy together. There will also be times for adults to share time together while the staff will run program with your children.

This camp is designed for those interested in spiritual leadership and development. The focus of the week will be Spirituality, Leadership and Service. This week long camp will focus on building the foundations of biblical leadership, explore leaders from the Bible, participate in team building and what it means to lead within a team. Time will also be given to develop ways to enhance the camp program. This camp will also count toward twenty hours of volunteer service.

Running from after breakfast until before dinner Monday to Friday day campers will get a  chance to try many of the activities that GCCRC has to offer. Games, crafts, hiking, swimming, ropes course, archery, bible study and more. Our professional staff will lead the campers throughout their day and make the most of every opportunity for learning and fun. This is a great way to finish off the summer and spend time with friends before the fall. Lunch is included

These unique camps take place at our wilderness base camp “Bruno’s”, where campers will sleep in platform tents as a small group unit. Campers will learn a variety of outdoor living skills such as paddling, knots, building shelters and cooking over a fire. One third of their meals will be prepared over a fire, one third will be picked up from the kitchen and the remaining meals will be eaten in the dining hall. Campers will enjoy an overnight on the lake and have a more flexible schedule in which to participate in all of our other camp activities.

LEADER-IN-TRAINING (LIT) (Ages 16–17)

The Leader-in-training program is an intensive 200 hour course spread over four weeks including a multi-day canoe trip and an internship on site at Gracefield Camp.  The course is a program of the Association des Camps du Quebec that covers a wide spectrum of leadership skill training which Gracefield augments with Christian camping content, worship and Bible study. Leaders-in-training receive instruction in: safety and risk management at camp; child development and leadership styles; camp skill development; games, archery, land navigation including outdoor living skills, hiking, swimming, Bible study, worship leadership, drama, music and ropes course; First Aid training,  wilderness practice scenarios  and canoe skill training through the Ontario Recreational Canoe and Kayak Association(ORCKA) program.

The LIT program contributes to the development of team building and out-tripping skills during the off-site multi-day canoe trip, internship with campers on-site covering all parts of camp from maintenance, to counselling, to kitchen, to administration. The LIT program is ideal youth looking for experiencing working with children, planning on becoming a lifeguard, or looking to bring their wilderness expertise up to the next level. The LIT program is a stepping stone to many opportunities in the world of camp and beyond.

In addition to the registration, the LIT program will involve an application process, interview and references.  NEW bus transportation to and from Gracefield will be provided for all LIT participants!
