Our Mission
The mission of Gracefield Christian Camp and Retreat Center is to invite all people to experience the loving presence of the living God, in Christ, in Creation, and in Christian community.
What is a Christian Camp?
Christian camp welcomes everyone and treats each individual as a precious, unique and loved child of God. A Christian Camp desires that God’s presence permeate everything that takes place. Campers explore the wonder and beauty of nature and in doing so, they begin to understand the character of God the creator. We learn that we cannot earn God’s love but it is offered to each of us as an undeserved gift of grace.
Christian camp counsellors desire to model the fruits of God’s spirit (love, joy, peace patience, kindness, gentleness and self-control). Every day offers opportunities to put faith into action. Campers learn through doing, hearing, exploring and reflecting. Through the stories of biblical characters re-told and re-enacted, we recognize age-long human struggles and see God‘s desire to intervene and transform everyday situations.
Through the traditional activities of camp, such as rope challenges, archery, hiking, swimming and canoeing, we safely explore the joy of mastering new skills and abilities. Activities are designed to be accomplished through support and encouragement to one another, demonstrating what it is to be part of a Christian community.
Our prayer is for campers to return home confident of God’s presence, supported with resources to grow in faith, and strengthened to face life’s joys and challenges.
Worship and Bible Encounters
Come join the Gracefield community for worship Sunday mornings.
Sunday morning worship is held at 10:00 am during the summer season in our beautiful lakeside chapel (weather permitting, otherwise in the Pineview lounge). The entire community is invited to participate in this informal and inter-generational service that includes a mix of contemporary Christian music and traditional hymns. Led by staff, chaplains, and seasonal site campers.
