Wilderness and Canoe Tripping Camps

For campers that love the outdoors and who are looking for an adventure. Our wilderness camps provide a safe and fun way to learn all about the outdoors and what it has to offer. Canoe tripping offers life skills and a chance for campers to test their limits on an adventure. Campers will get the opportunity to learn how to paddle, camp, and live in an outdoor setting while making friends along the way.

Adventure

Ages 10 – 12 / $550 / July 30 – August 4

For campers who love the outdoors! This camp takes place at Bruno’s wilderness site. Adventure campers will enjoy a flexible schedule learning camping, canoeing, archery, fire building, and outdoor cooking skills. They will also work on paddling and tripping skills to help prepare them for an overnight canoe trip on our lake Castor Blanc that gives campers a chance to use their newfound camp-craft skills with their tight-knit group. Campers will also get the opportunity to go on a full-day trip to a local river called “Picanoc”. While there, they will experience low-level whitewater and learn how to paddle it safely. Meals will be split between eating in our dining hall with base camp and preparing our own meals over the fire or camp stoves.

Plus applicable taxes / Bus transportation from Ottawa to Gracefield and back is available at an additional cost of $35/person

Woodlander

Ages 12 – 14 / $550 / July 16 – 21

A step up from adventure camp, woodlander offers the same adventure-style schedule with activities such as shelter building, advanced canoeing, hiking, and remote camping, as well as all the usual camp favorites like archery, ropes course, wide games, and many others. Woodlander campers then go on a multi-day canoe trip taking place away from the camp in the pristine wilderness of rural Quebec. On the trip, campers will get the opportunity to explore various locations such as waterfalls, caves, and islands. Campers may get the opportunity to learn how to scout and run low-level whitewater rapids safely. With plenty of stuff to do trips never get boring. Meals will be split between eating in our dining hall with base camp and preparing our own meals over the fire or camp stoves.
